Pelvic Floor Follow-Up

We’ll begin by discussing your symptoms, health history, and goals before assessing how your body moves and functions. Your evaluation may include standing posture, hip and leg strength and flexibility, back mobility, breathing patterns, core function, and pelvic floor coordination.

If you feel comfortable and give consent, we may also perform an internal vaginal or rectal examination to assess pelvic floor strength, coordination, mobility, and scar tissue. An internal exam is always optional, and your care will be guided by your comfort level and preferences.

Continue building on your progress with a follow-up pelvic floor  therapy sessions. During each follow-up session, we’ll revisit the plan established at your initial evaluation and focus on helping you move, feel, and function better.

We Listen First

We'll discuss your health history, symptoms, concerns, and goals in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

Your therapist will evaluate relevant movement patterns, strength, flexibility, breathing, core function, and pelvic floor coordination. An internal examination may be offered when appropriate, but it is never mandatory.

Together, we'll identify the next steps that make sense for your body. You'll receive individualized guidance, exercises when appropriate, and practical strategies to help you work toward your goals between appointments.

While we do not bill insurance directly, many patients choose to use HSA or FSA cards for eligible services. Some insurance plans may also offer out-of-network reimbursement—though coverage varies.

We’re always happy to provide a detailed receipt (superbill) upon request so you can check with your insurance provider if reimbursement is available.

Optimize is a self-pay, out-of-network practice. This allows us to provide longer, one-on-one sessions without the limitations often required by insurance companies.

Choosing self-pay care means:
  • Longer appointments
  • Personalized, unrushed treatment
  • Care driven by your needs—not insurance restrictions
If you have questions about payment or coverage, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help you understand your options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have children to benefit from pelvic floor therapy?

Absolutely not. Pelvic floor concerns can affect women who have never been pregnant, women whose children are grown, and women at every stage of life. You don't need to be a mom to benefit from pelvic health care.

.

My kids are grown… is it too late to fix pelvic floor issues?

It is NEVER too late.
Whether it’s been 6 months… or 26 years… your pelvic floor is made of muscles and connective tissue. Muscles adapt at every age, and we can retrain them.
You don’t have to live with leaking, pressure, or pain just because someone once told you it’s “normal” or “part of aging.” It’s not.

Is internal pelvic floor work required?

Never. It’s an option, not an obligation. We have plenty of external techniques that are just as effective.

How many pelvic floor therapy sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your symptoms, goals, and response to treatment. Some people may benefit from a few visits, while others with persistent or complex conditions may benefit from longer-term care or occasional maintenance appointments. Your therapist will help determine an appropriate plan with you.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means your treatment plan is based on what you need, not what insurance approves. I provide superbills for reimbursement upon request.

Do you take HSA or FSA cards?

Yes — HSA/FSA cards can be used for therapy sessions (and sometimes wellness sessions depending on your plan).

Endometriosis had me in constant pelvic pain, and I didn’t realize how much my pelvic floor was contributing until seeing Dr. Bri. Her internal work, breathing retraining, and gentle manual therapy eased pain I’ve lived with for years. She truly understands endo patients and how sensitive our bodies can be.”

-Racheal

After having my baby, I had leaking, pressure, and didn’t feel like myself. Dr. Bri helped me reconnect to my core and pelvic floor in a way that felt safe and gentle. She never rushed me and always validated how hard postpartum can be. I finally feel strong again.”

-Emma

“I’ve struggled with constipation for years, and no one ever checked my pelvic floor. Dr. Bri identified tightness and taught me techniques to relax and coordinate my muscles. She also used some massage to help move things along. I left every session needing to go and feeling regular!!! My bowel movements are finally regular again and that has helped my daily life tremendously.”

-Sam

“I came to Brianne for lymphatic and pelvic floor work due to chronic inflammation and what I think is the beginning of autoimmune arthritis which runs in my family. Her approach is unlike anything I’ve tried. My bloating, swelling, and pain have all improved, and I finally feel like someone understands how everything connects. I wish I could have sent my family to her before their diagnosis!”

-Ruthie

"I struggled with chronic pelvic-floor pain and Vaginismus for years. I had a traumatic experience at the gynecologist in my early 20s and dreaded going to exams or checkups. During my first visits with Elisa, she was patient and non-judgmental. Through our time working together she assisted with recognizing a chronic condition called Vestibulodynia, which was confirmed by an OB specializing in vulvar pain. Elisa’s experience, vast knowledge base, and patience helped me to trust in her and my own body again."
