About Us

Our journey

We first met during our doctorate physical therapy program at Missouri State University. Following graduation, we both returned to Saint Charles where we started our careers. We pursued various experiences in general orthopedic rehab and our specialties of pelvic floor and lymphedema.

Physical Therapist, Lymphedema Therapist, Pelvic Floor Therapist

Our vision of ideal physical therapy care is individualized and focused on one patient at a time. We felt overlapping patients does not bring out the best in the therapist and in turn does not get the best long term results for the patient. As time went on, we finalized our dream of what physical therapy care should look like and Optimize Physical Therapy and Wellness was born.

Our Mission

The mission of Optimize is to serve the people of Saint Charles and surrounding areas with high quality care through education, movement, and trust.

Dr. Samantha Chilson, PT, DPT, PCES

My name is Samantha, and I have a passion for helping women get back to the things they love doing without pain or incontinence. I received my bachelor degree in exercise science and my doctorate degree in physical therapy from Missouri State University. I chose physical therapy due to my passion for helping people decrease their pain and keeping people active.

I started pursuing pelvic floor physical therapy after seeing the huge necessity in women’s health care. I am a licensed physical therapist that can help to rehab your joint pain and my passion lies with helping women through pregnancy and postpartum. I believe that women should receive more education and support during this time of their lives as their bodies go through miraculous changes.

Women should not have to settle for pain during pregnancy or pelvic floor dysfunction postpartum. Physical therapy is a great way to help prepare your body for these changes and I am excited to help Women on this journey. Outside of being a physical therapist I enjoy staying active by gardening, hiking, and boating with my family.

Dr. Brianne Hollandsworth, PT, DPT, CLT

My name is Bri, and I grew up in the North County area of St. Louis, Missouri. I always knew I wanted to go into healthcare and chose Physical Therapy in my undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton. While at UD, I walked on to their D1 rowing team and loved my time there. I am an avid Flyer fan to this day.

I chose to go to Missouri State University for my doctorate in physical therapy to be closer to my family. After graduation, I worked primarily in intensive neuromuscular rehab until I found my love for working with oncology and lymphedema patients. I now focus my treatment on general orthopedics and lymphedema care. Specifically, lipedema education and care is important for me due to it running in my family.

I believe that everyone should have access to physical therapy to feel more confident in how they move and operate in their daily lives. Physical therapy is not just about getting stronger, but understanding and loving your body’s strengths and weaknesses. Other than physical therapy, my hobbies include finding new areas to hike, playing board games, reading, and water sports.

  • Venous Insufficiency
  • Mobility and Balance
  • Debility
  • Breast Rehabilitation
